1. An early start.

Not Just the mornings with a cuppa coffee!

Lets talk about when is the best time to shop for your wedding dress.

Even though it’s the best part _ Well it's certainly our favourite part—you don’t want to save this task for last. Once you decide on a gown, you’ll need nine to twelve months to have it prefect for your wedding day. If you put off dress shopping for too long, this could limit your dress options drastically. Alterations alone can take up to eight weeks! So if you’re a picky or indecisive shopper or are requiring a some customisation to your gown, that’s even more time you may need to allow.

So the first thing you want to do is start to wedding dress shop —because the last thing you want to do is make a dress decision you’re not 100% happy with!

2. A budget & payment:

One of the worst things you can do is fall head over heels with a dress that’s out of your price range—especially when taking into account accessories, undergarments, alterations, etc. That’s why it’s so important to trust your consultant with your budget! They’ll be sure to help you pick gowns that allow you the freedom to fall in love. Before you you arrive in our boutique we send out an email this has a few questions about budget etc. so we know not to show you wedding dresses that are out of your price range. Secondly we offer payment plans, which many of brides use, there is no credit searches or financial agreements just a monthly amount we agree on at your appointment, these are around £100 per month.

3. A present-day mindset.

If you’re planning to lose a considerable amount of weight for the wedding, you don’t necessarily need to buy a “goal dress” that it is a couple of sizes smaller than you are at the appointment. Dresses can ALWAYS be taken in before the wedding, even in a pinch—which is much easier than risking your dress being too small on the day of the wedding. Shop for the bride you are today!

We do have certain appointment slots available to brides to try on our sample dress to see if they are achieving their goals they have set themselves.

4. A small(er) entourage.

Sorry, bestie’s sister’s neighbor’s aunt and her cat!—you may have to sit this one out (we’re looking at you too, fiancés). Too many opinions in the bride’s posse can mean too many people to please, which can make the bride lose sight of herself and what she wants! We also love the surprise element to a bride revealing her wedding dress to her bridesmaids, its very magical, often teary.

5. Which undergarments should I wear?

Sometimes, it’s the little things. Coming prepared with nude undergarments can take a dress that’s a “maybe” to a dress that’s a “yes.” The majority of our wedding dresses don't need bras, so if you are comfortable to take them off at the end the appointment you will see a true image of how you will look on your wedding day, if not don't worry, nude will be as good we can tuck your straps inside, so you can not see them.

6. Inspiration.

Pictures, pictures, pictures! It is always helpful to have a general idea of what you want, and it helps the consultant pick out similar styles that will fit you and your budget. Again on our email we send to all our brides to be, it kindly asks to have a look at our website, and let us know a few styles you like this helps us guide you through your appointment, helping you choose the best wedding dresses to suit your wedding day.

7. Lets keep an open mind.

Between the world wide web, TV shows and social media, you can discover an endless array of different styles and trends that look PERFECT in every photograph. While these can be handy tools to get inspired, it’s very important to not get to overwhelmed in the process—what’s perfect on Pinterest may not be perfect for your wedding day.
