Heather & Jake Smith's Wedding Day

Bride and groom embracing after their ceremony in a countryside venue

Tell us about your wedding day.

We got married on 29th December 2025 at the beautiful Iscoyd Park and from the moment we saw it, we just knew it was the one. It felt so elegant, romantic, and completely us from the very beginning.

As Heather and Jake Smith, we wanted a day that felt relaxed, personal, and full of love. Every detail came together so perfectly, especially the flowers by Unique Your Wedding, which added such a soft and romantic feel to the whole setting.

Every moment was captured so beautifully by Dionne Fernyhough. Looking back at our photos, you can truly feel the emotion, the joy, and all the little in between moments that made the day so special.

It was honestly everything we had dreamed of and more.

Which wedding dress did you get married in?

My dress was Bondi by Stella York, a princess style gown with a beautiful glitter sparkle and delicate 3D lace appliqués. I added off the shoulder straps for a more romantic feel, and it made me feel so comfortable and completely myself all day. It felt magical, elegant, and everything I had imagined.

How did you know it was the one?

I had some concerns about the straight neckline and lack of sleeves but with the help of a peg to help me envisage what a sweetheart neck would look like, I knew it was the perfect dress. The glitter layer sparkled perfectly under the Christmas tree lights and sparklers on our big day. I really felt like Hilary Duff in A Cinderella Story!

How did you feel during your bridal journey with us?

I was a little apprehensive before my appointment as I had never really thought about what my dream dress would look like so I felt a bit clueless! I walked in knowing that I wanted something sparkly as we were having our dream Christmas wedding. The appointment was easy and chilled with my sister (maid of honour) and mum joining me. We had the loveliest afternoon and as soon as I put my dress on, I just knew it was very nearly perfect!

What was your first dance song?

First dance was Magical - Ed Sheeran

How did your wedding day go?

Our wedding day was perfect from start to finish, we both had a very chilled start to the day with our closest friends and families. The Iscoyd team looked after us from the moment we arrived and made everything seamless. We knew that we wanted our wedding day to be fun and a party to end 2025. Our ceremony was lovely and we walked back down the aisle married to Fairytale of New York. We had planned our day to encompass our love of Christmas and our guests were seated at tables named after our favourite Christmas films, adorned with beautiful hand-drawn images from our friend. During our wedding breakfast, we had an incredible singing host and mini tambourines which meant that our wedding guests danced from start to finish. We finished the wedding breakfast with the 12 Days of Christmas. The evening was spent dancing and we had lots of compliments on how much fun our whole day had been. The day went by in such a blur and we have the most incredible memories of our perfect day.

Any advice you'd give future brides?

when choosing a dress, pick something that feels like “you” and always consider adapting it to make it perfect. & Don’t sweat the small things, it won’t matter on the day.
