  • Amy & Liz's Wedding Day

Tell us about your wedding day. Where you got married and the styling to your day. We got married at Foxtails Barns , and from the moment we saw it we knew it was the one. It had everything we wanted and suited us perfectly. We added such a personal touch by creating our own DIY flowers, which made the day feel even more special. Every moment was captured perfectly by Adam Lowndes Photography , and the whole day was filled with love, emotion, and unforgettable moments from start to finish. Which wedding dress did you get married in? I got married in the Casablanca Samara wedding dress. It featured a beautiful lace bodice paired with a soft tulle skirt and a statement thigh split that added a modern edge. The dress felt romantic yet confident and was the perfect balance of elegance and drama for our wedding day. How did you feel during your bridal journey with us? The process from start to finish with Wedding Belles Love was perfect. The appointment booking process was seamless and myself and my family were welcomed with open arms. When I started looking for my dress I was a UK size 24 and was nervous to start dress shopping for fear shops would not carry plus sizes. The range of plus size dresses available to try on at Wedding Belles was insane. It was nice to go to a store and have several options to try on and not leave depressed that dresses were too small or I was unable to assess how they looked on me. When I was getting changed into each dress Claire made sure I was comfortable and the dressing room is extremely private. She was there to offer advice and allowed me to try multiple dresses on to get a feel for each one.  Once I said yes to the dress, the order process was easy and communication throughout was excellent and I was able to ask questions via WhatsApp. I am in a same-sex couple and my wife was also going to Wedding Belles Love to look at dresses. They made her feel welcome as well and also hid my dress so that we were not able to pick the same dress which I thought was a lovely gesture.  How did you know it was the one? It was nice to go to a store and have several options to try on and not leave depressed that dresses were too small or I was unable to assess how they looked on me. When I was getting changed into each dress Claire made sure I was comfortable and the dressing room is extremely private. She was there to offer advice and allowed me to try multiple dresses on to get a feel for each one.

I knew it was the one When my mum cried and everything else I tried didn’t compare to it.  Some advice for other brides! • Hollie’s Handy Guide: What to Wear to Your Bridal Appointment (Spoiler: It’s Way Easier Than You Think)

Our beautiful bride Hollie is the perfect example of how to keep things simple and stress-free on dress day. When she came in for her appointment, she wasn’t sure what to wear but she quickly found out that it’s not about perfection, it’s about comfort and ease. So if you’re wondering what to wear to your bridal appointment, here’s Hollie’s no-fuss, real-talk guide to help you feel calm, confident, and totally yourself when it’s time to try on dresses. “I thought I had to wear the ‘right’ underwear, maybe even shapewear. But you all made it so easy and I realised, it’s not about dressing up for your appointment, it’s about dressing down!” Here’s what Hollie recommends: 👗 Wear something easy to slip on and off! Think leggings and a loose top or a comfy dress. You’ll be changing in and out of gowns, so you don’t want to be wrestling with zips or tight fabrics. 🩲 Underwear doesn’t have to be fancy! Just make sure you’re wearing some ! Nude or light colours are great, but honestly we’ve seen it all, and nothing is going to phase us. Comfort over everything. ❌ No bra? No problem! Most wedding dresses have built-in support (especially ours!), and we often ask brides to take their bra off to get the best idea of how the dress actually fits and sits on the body. 👠 Heels are optional (and not needed at all) You’ll be standing on a podium in our boutique, so no need to bring heels the dresses are always too long anyway, and it’s more about the top half at this stage! 💡 Shapewear? Only if you  want to! Some brides love it, others don’t. We always say don’t wear anything that’s going to distract from how you  feel in the dress. If you’re not planning to wear it on the big day, don’t feel pressure to wear it to your appointment. “You made me feel so relaxed. I came in a bit flustered, but left feeling like a bride. It’s honestly not about what you wear it’s about how the dresses make you feel.” Hollie So if you’re reading this and overthinking what to wear take a breath. Keep it simple. We’ve got you covered (literally). To Hollie thank you for being your gorgeous, down-to-earth self and helping other brides realise that the dress journey doesn’t need to be intimidating. You nailed it. #WeddingBellesLove #BridalAppointmentTips #WhatToWearToTryOnDresses #RealBrideAdvice #2025Bride #StaffordshireBride #WeddingDressShopping #NoBraNoProblem #ComfortIsKey

  • Lucy’s Guide: How to Style an Hourglass Body for Your Wedding Dress Moment

Our gorgeous bride Lucy not only looked stunning on her big day she’s also got some seriously good advice for fellow brides with an hourglass figure. And honestly? We’re here for it. Lucy’s dress journey was all about embracing her curves, boosting her confidence, and finding a silhouette that made her feel like the very best version of herself. Two years on, she’s still glowing and now she’s giving you  the rundown on what worked for her body shape and why. Here’s what Lucy had to say: “The hourglass shape is all about balance. I wanted a dress that showed off my waist, but still felt elegant and comfortable. I was nervous at first, but the team made me feel amazing and the dress I chose gave me shape in all the right places.” Lucy's Hourglass Styling Tips: ✅ Emphasise the waist! “Honestly, a defined waist is the magic. Dresses with boned bodices or cinched waistlines work wonders. I loved how secure I felt in mine it pulled me in without feeling tight.” ✅ Try a fit-and-flare or mermaid! “These shapes highlight curves beautifully without overwhelming your frame. Mine was a soft fit-and-flare with structure through the bodice and gentle movement through the skirt. It made me feel feminine, not restricted.” ✅ Don’t rule out A-line!   “I always thought A-line wouldn’t work for me, but it can be gorgeous if it hugs the waist first, then flows. Perfect if you want to feel more relaxed without losing shape.” ✅ Support is everything!  “I didn’t realise how important built-in support was. I didn’t need to wear a bra on the day (which I never thought would happen) and I still felt totally secure.” ✅ Keep an open mind!   “Try on the unexpected. I nearly ruled out my dress because it wasn’t what I pictured but it ended up being the one.” Lucy was a total knockout in her gown, but what we remember most is how she felt : confident, glowing, and completely herself. Got an hourglass figure and feeling unsure where to start? Come in with an open heart and let us guide you. Like Lucy said it’s all about balance, support, and saying yes to the dress that makes you feel like you. To Lucy: thank you for being the warm, honest, beautiful soul that you are. Your advice is gold, and we know so many brides will feel seen because of you. #WeddingBellesLove #HourglassBride #BodyConfidenceBride #RealBrideAdvice #BridalStylingTips #2025Bride #StaffordshireBride #MidlandsWeddings #BridalSilhouettes #SayYesToTheDress

However, I needent of worried. There were so many to choose from and I was encouraged to try dresses on that I wouldn't have usually considered. The dress I chose was totally different to the type I thought I would have gone for but I loved it and felt so special on my wedding day. I'm so glad I trusted the girls and the process.  How was your wedding day? The wedding day went to plan and we and our family and friends enjoyed celebrating. We were lucky to have lovely summer weather but had planned for rain just in case. The moment you knew it was the one Moment I knew it was the one was when my friend cried when she saw me wearing it! Advice to future brides My advice would be to not leave anything until the last minute (we left too much too late and it caused unnecessary stress) and make sure you both take time to be in the moment on the day. It goes by so quickly so it's important you make time to take it all in. What Was Your First Dance Song Our first dance was to Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac . It felt joyful, romantic, and full of meaning for us, a song that instantly takes us back to that special moment on our wedding day.

  • Dawn’s Review: “As an Older Bride, I Just Wanted to Feel Like Me! And My Stylists Got It Right”

Wedding dress shopping can feel daunting at any age, but for Dawn, stepping into the boutique as an older bride came with its own mix of nerves and quiet hope. She wasn’t looking for a dramatic transformation or something to make her feel like someone else. She was looking for her  dress. The one that would feel elegant, timeless, and most importantly like herself . “I didn’t want to feel like I was playing dress-up. I just wanted to feel confident, beautiful, and comfortable not hidden away, but not over-the-top either.” From the moment she walked in, Dawn was met with warmth and understanding. Her stylist listened, took the time to get to know her, and then quietly pulled out a gown that wasn’t on Dawn’s radar… yet. “I never would’ve picked it for myself. But the second I tried it on, I could tell they’d seen me. It wasn’t just a dress it was exactly what I didn’t know I needed.” So what made it the one ? 💫 Elegant, but not ageing ! The gown had all the timeless details Dawn loved, but still felt fresh and current. Nothing frumpy. Nothing forced. 💫 Flattering structure ! With soft, thoughtful tailoring, it gave her shape in all the right places without ever feeling tight or uncomfortable. 💫 Just enough detail ! A touch of lace, a subtle shimmer, and an overall glow that let her  shine not just the dress. 💫 That feeling ! “It just felt right . Not flashy. Not boring. Just… me. I saw myself as a bride, not a woman trying to ‘look younger’ or fit in.” To every bride who wonders if this moment is still for you it is. You deserve to feel confident and radiant, no matter your age, your shape, or your style. Like Dawn, you deserve a team that listens, gets you, and helps you say yes to a dress that fits who you  are not who the bridal world says you should be. To Dawn thank you for trusting your stylist, trusting yourself, and reminding every bride that the most beautiful thing you can be on your wedding day… is you . #WeddingBellesLove #OlderBrideConfidence #RealBrideReview #BridalStyleAtEveryAge #TimelessNotTraditional #SayYesToFeelingLikeYou #StaffordshireBride #2025Bride #WeddingDressJourney

  • The Truth Behind Bridal Shopping, It’s Not Like What You See on TV

We all love a good bridal show moment, the tears, the sparkle, the dramatic “yes to the dress.” But if you’ve ever walked into a boutique expecting your appointment to look like Say Yes to the Dress, you’ll quickly realise… it’s a little different in real life. Darci and Leanne have seen it all inside the boutique. The laughter, the nerves, the unexpected emotions and the truth is, bridal shopping is beautifully imperfect. It’s Not Always a TV Moment On screen, everything seems effortless. The bride walks in, slips on a gown, and the whole room bursts into happy tears within five minutes. In real life? Sometimes it takes trying on ten dresses. Sometimes there are quiet moments of reflection, and sometimes there’s laughter so loud it echoes down the hallway. And that’s the magic of it, it’s your  journey, not a scripted scene. Every Bride Has a Different Story Some brides know exactly what they want before they even step through the door. Others arrive saying, “I have no idea where to start!” Both are completely normal. The truth behind bridal shopping is that no two experiences are ever the same and that’s what makes them so special. Your Support Crew Matters On TV, everyone’s perfectly polite. In reality, sometimes opinions clash. Your best friend loves one dress, your mum loves another, and you’re caught in the middle. That’s why having a calm, experienced team by your side makes all the difference. Darci and Leanne know how to read the room, guide the moment, and help you find your own  voice in the noise. What You See in the Mirror Isn’t the Full Picture Sample gowns don’t always fit perfectly and that’s okay. The magic happens when you look past the clips and pins and start to see your vision . Every bride deserves to feel beautiful, confident, and celebrated no matter what size, shape, or stage of the journey she’s in. Real, Raw, and Absolutely Worth It Bridal shopping isn’t about perfection. It’s about connection, trust, and that incredible feeling when you finally find the one that makes your heart race. So if your appointment doesn’t look like a TV show, good. Because your story deserves to be real, not rehearsed. ✨ This is Wedding Belles Love Unveiled where we share the stories, the truths, and the heart behind every “yes.” 👇 Stay connected with us on socials @weddingbelleslove#WeddingBellesLoveUnveiled #TruthBehindBridal #RealBrides #WeddingDressShopping #BridalBoutique #SayYesWithConfidence

  • Two Looks in One: The Bridal Styling Trend Every 2026 Bride Will Love

One of the most exciting trends sweeping through the bridal world right now is the rise of transformable wedding dresses. Today’s brides are bridal styling and want a gown that feels unique, versatile, and truly theirs and that’s where clever design details come in. By adding layers, accessories, and detachable elements, you can create two stunning looks with just one dress. Here’s how to make it work for your big day: 1. The Corset Bodice Over Lace A fitted lace gown is timeless, but brides are taking it a step further by layering a structured corset bodice  over the top. This not only enhances shape and definition but also adds a contemporary, fashion-forward twist to delicate lace. The corset overlay creates drama for your ceremony entrance—while still letting the romance of lace shine through. And when the dancing starts, you can simply remove it to reveal a softer, more relaxed silhouette underneath. 💡 Styling tip: choose a contrasting fabric like satin or organza for the corset to highlight texture and detail. 2. Overskirts & Sleeves for Day-to-Night Magic Another bride-approved styling secret? Detachable overskirts and sleeves . Imagine walking down the aisle in a dreamy full skirt, only to reveal a sleek, fitted gown for the reception. It’s the ultimate wow-factor transformation. Similarly, long, detachable sleeves bring elegance and coverage for the ceremony—then can be whisked away later for a lighter, more modern look. This flexibility means you don’t have to choose between drama and simplicity—you can have both. 💡 Styling tip: Overskirts look incredible in photos, especially with cathedral-length veils, giving you that grand, cinematic bridal moment. Why We Love This Trend Brides today aren’t settling for just one look—they want their dress to evolve with their day. Corset overlays, overskirts, and detachable sleeves give you the chance to express two sides of your style: romantic and dramatic for the “I do’s”, sleek and chic for the party. At Wedding Belles Love, we’re seeing more and more brides embrace this versatile trend, and we couldn’t be more excited. It’s about feeling confident, playful, and completely yourself—every step of the way.

  • The Ultimate Bridal Timeline: Exactly When to Book, Buy, and Accessorise Your Wedding Look

Planning your bridal look can feel like a huge task, but the secret is simple: timing is everything. Knowing exactly when to book your appointment, buy your dress, and choose your accessories will take the stress away and give you space to truly enjoy the journey. At Wedding Belles Love, we’ve styled thousands of brides, so we know how the ideal bridal timeline should look. Here’s our step-by-step guide to making sure every detail of your look comes together seamlessly. Following a clear bridal timeline ensures every step from saying yes to the dress to the final fitting feels stress-free and exciting 12–18 Months This is the perfect time to start trying on dresses. Most gowns are made-to-order, so they can take 6–9 months to arrive once you’ve placed your order. Booking early gives you the widest choice of styles, sizes, and designers without feeling rushed. 💡 Stylist Tip:  Bring no more than 2–3 trusted guests to your first appointment too many opinions can cloud your vision. 9–12 Months Before: Say “Yes” to the Dress 💖 Once you’ve found the one, order it! This ensures your gown arrives with plenty of time for alterations. Brides who wait until the last minute often feel stressed or limited in choice. Giving yourself a cushion makes the experience more enjoyable. 💡 Stylist Tip:  Trust your first instincts. The dress that makes you light up in the mirror is usually the one . 6–9 Months Before: Choose Your Accessories ✨ Veils, jewellery, headpieces, shoes, and overskirts should be chosen once your dress is secured. Accessories can completely change your look—romantic, modern, or classic. They’re best selected to enhance your gown rather than compete with it. 💡 Stylist Tip:  Bring your accessories to at least one dress fitting so you can see the whole look together. 3–6 Months Before: Hair & Makeup Trials 💄 Book your trial styling sessions around this time, ideally with your chosen accessories. Having your hairpiece, veil, or statement earrings at the trial helps your stylist create the exact look for your big day. 2–3 Months Before: Alterations Begin ✂️ Dresses are rarely a perfect fit straight from the hanger. Plan for at least two fitting sessions—sometimes three—to achieve a flawless fit. This is when your gown truly becomes yours. 💡 Stylist Tip:  Bring the shoes and underwear you’ll wear on the day to every fitting. 1–2 Weeks Before: Final Fitting & Collection 🎉 Pick up your dress in pristine condition, ready for the big day. Do a final check with accessories and make sure everything feels comfortable. The Day Before: Prep & Pamper 💆‍♀️ Lay out your full look: gown, veil, jewellery, shoes, and emergency kit (yes, plasters and safety pins count!). Enjoy the calm before the magic. Final Thoughts 💖 Your bridal look isn’t just about the dress it’s about the journey. By following this timeline, you’ll enjoy every step of the process without last-minute panic. From the moment you say yes in the boutique to your final fitting, you’ll know that every detail is under control. At Wedding Belles Love, we pride ourselves on guiding brides through this journey with ease, excitement, and confidence because your wedding look deserves nothing less.
